Tours into the Mission Church and Museum maybe closed at the time of your visit due to state COVID-19 regulations for churches and museums as well as special events. Please call 831-623-2127 for our current status.
The Mission Gift Shop, Museum and Garden are open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Fridays through Sundays, and by appointment on Wednesday through Thursday for small group tours only.

Admission: Self-Guided Tour
$7.00 adults
$5.00 seniors – 60 years and over
$4.00 – 5 years to 17 years of age
Under 5 years of age – FREE
Mission San Juan Bautista admission is separate from the State Park admission.

All children under 18 must be accompanied by adults.

Docent-led Tours
The Mission is currently taking reservations for small group private tours by appointment only on Wednesday through Friday. Please call 831-623-2127 to make your reservation.

We reserve the right to close certain areas of our property at any time due to the religious and historical nature of this Church and Museum. Thank you for your patience as we work to conserve and protect the architecture for all to enjoy.

The Mission is closed on New Year’s Day, Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, Day before Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve.

Furthermore, due to pandemic and the financial impact on our establishment, we do not yet have a date for a reopening for groups. Updates will be provided here.
School Field Trips (CLOSED):


The Mission and the State Historic Park are administered separately and reservations between the two are not automatic.
It is advised that you first call Reserve California at 1.866.240.4655 or visit www.reservecalifornia.com to make a reservation to tour the San Juan Bautista State Historic Park, Call 831-623-7609 to book your School Field Trip Reservation for Mission San Juan Bautista.

 

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE FIELD TRIP GUIDELINES BELOW:

Shopping at the Gift Shop is allowed at your discretion. CHAPERONES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE STUDENTS. (Chaperone Information)

Your admission is purchased online when you make your reservation. Purchases made in the Gift Shop are very important to the Mission. We do not receive any financial aid from any state or federal funds. We rely solely on the generosity of our visitors for the upkeep and restoration of this historic treasure.
BEFORE STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED TO VISIT, it is required that your class report to the gift shop to check in 15 minutes prior to your reservation. Your reservation has been prepaid online, please bring your proof of online purchase. The cost is $75.00 per class, which includes teachers, students and chaperones.
STUDENTS MAY NOT BRING BACKPACKS, drinks, or food onto the Mission grounds. Teachers and chaperones may carry their educational supplies (no food or drink) as needed.

THE MISSION IS A PLACE OF WORSHIP. There are times when the Church may be closed for services. The rest of the Mission grounds including the museum are open during services.

THE ADMISSION IS $75.00 PER CLASS for a self-guided tour (On occasion a docent may be available to answer questions or guide a tour upon request.) Reservations and payment may be made online prior to your visit. We also accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.

PLEASE NOTE: Purchase orders are not accepted.

Bus parking is located at the corner of 2nd and San Jose Streets in the lot adjacent to the Mission parking lot. The entrance and exit for buses are located on 2nd Street. Please share this information with your bus drivers as it is no longer permitted that buses park on the city streets. Please follow your busing parking instructions.
